Traveling exhibition: February 18 2008 to September 08 2008
The exhibition will show ceramics, metal work, tapestries, and manuscripts from the Ottoman, Safavid, and Mughal empires, featuring the main items from the Louvre Museum's collection of Islamic Art.
The exhibition consists of a selection of 250 artworks from Ottoman, Iranian Safavi and Indian Mughal Empires and is organized with the cooperation of Paris Museum of Decorative Arts. The 250-piece collection selected from Louvre’s Islamic Section shows the similarities and differences in the artworks of Ottoman (1299-1923), and Iranian Safavi (1501-1722) Empires, Timur-i (1396-1510) and Indian Babur Dynasties that reigned in different regions of the world.
