Typographic Matchmaking fonts in public spaces

The Exhibition, sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Development and Investment Company, showcased architectural design proposals for a series of museums to be designed by an array of internationally-renowned architects. One of the major museums featured in this project is the Guggenheim museum with a plan to build the largest Guggenheim in the world to date. This proposal was presented and developed by Thomas Krens, Director of the Guggenheim Foundation. The exhibition was curated by a team of specialists form the Guggenheim Foundation, and was designed by Susan Sellers and Natasha Jen from the New York based design studio ‘2x4’ with typographic consulting and design by Huda Smitshuijzen AbiFares. Also, Fedra Arabic in New York

A Danish Artist, Jens Haaning, asked Tarek Atrissi to a design a poster for one of his concepts/projects. His idea was simple, he wanted to have a poster that displayed an old Arabic joke on the streets of new york. Tarek's task was to make a simple poster displaying the text of the joke; so he chose the typeface and colors to make the layout. He used Fedra Arabic in order to see it applied in such a context. The images show the latest rounds of the final version of the Bold font (a good test before the final font was released).
