    As a part of URBAN JEALOUSY, Roaming Biennial of Tehran in Berlin, GALERIE WALLYWOODS will host an exhibition of Poster designed under the theme of Urban Jealousy, to join the designers who already sent their new design works for Istanbul station of the project, You can send your works to us by Email in (JPG 800x600 pixel) biennialtehran@gmail.com ( Deadline: Sunday 19th of October 2008 )

    Soon after we receive your submission, we will send you emails in case if your design is selected for the exhibition, then participants are asked to send us actual works on c-type print on coated paper un-mounted and without frame in 2 different sizes:
    50x70cm (Width x Height) 1 hard Copy
    29.7x42cm ( A3 ) 2 additional Hard Copies ( Optional )

    The large posters will be exhibited in GALERIE WALLYWOODS,
    and the A3 Posters will be posted in public places and other exhibition spaces.

    Arabic Calligraphy Workshop 3.0

    Following the success of the first and the second workshops, we are aiming to delve further into the possible re-integration of Arabic Calligraphy in our cultural identity. We are pleased to announce yet another workshop for amateurs and anyone interested in Arabic calligraphy with the supervision of the Amman-based Syrian calligrapher Mr. Saleh Nasab.

    The workshop will be consisting of 2 courses; a comprehensive course and Introductory course exploring the calligraphic style of Thuluth.

    The main objectives of the workshop:

    › Reflect upon the beauty of Arabic Lettering.

    › To be introduced the techniques of writing, tools and the materials related to calligraphy.

    › Define of the usages of Arabic Calligraphy as a modern art form and the role of calligraphy in contemporary design.

    › Briefly look at the development of calligraphy through history, and discuss proposed methods for future development.

    › Study and experiment with the existing and extinct types of Arabic calligraphy.

    › Explore closely the main Arabic Calligraphy styles and schools

    About the workshop:

    The workshop will be consisted of two courses:

    1- The Comprehensive Course:

    An Abbreviated course, focusing on studying and practicing the existing and extinct types and styles of Arabic calligraphy. The course is made of 6 sessions; each one is 2 hours long on Saturdays. The participants have the option to choose from the following time slots:


    a. Morning session
from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM

    b. Afternoon session
from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
