Berit Schuck, born in 1970, is an artistic producer and independent curator based in Berlin. As curator she collaborates with artists and researchers, exploring new ways of interacting with social and urban realities. She produces exhibitions and projects at the crossroads between sound art, performing arts, video and contemporary literature.

Berit Schuck has worked as a literary adviser and curator for a number of years in Berlin and the Arab region. From 2005-2008 she worked as dramaturg and curator at Thalia Theater Halle in East Germany, where she realised the theater and exhibition programme COMIC MEETS THEATER. As curator she was also responsible for the cross-media project SILBERHÖHE GIBTS NICHT MEHR, the music theater production ORPHEUS IN DER UNTERWELT - HOMMAGE TO EINAR SCHLEEF, and the urban art project DROTTNINGGATAN 5. In 2008 she overtook the artistic direction of the Berlin based literary platform WEST EAST DIWAN. She coordinated the translation projects of the platform and organised literary events, working together with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation in Dubai and many German publishers. In 2010 she was appointed curator by the German Federal Cultural Foundation for an international meeting of theater directors, stage designers, choreographers, performers, media artists and activists. HEIMSPIEL 2011 brought together artists from state-run art institutions, self-organized collectives and private institutions and presented a hybrid workspace, a conference and a festival.
Berit Schuck holds degrees in Comparative Literature, French, Theatre and Women Studies from Duke University and the Free University Berlin.
