Charlotte Bank is a free lance researcher, curator and writer with a wide range of interests. With a background in Near Eastern archaeology and art history, her main focus now is the reception of Islamic and Arab art and culture in Western high and popular culture, contemporary artistic and cultural practice in the Arab world, global visual culture as well as early Islamic visual art. The mechanisms of globalization, interculturalism and post-polonialism are an important part of all her projects.
She organizes talks, seminars and exhibitions and publishes regularly, both on- and off-line.
