She has worked with The Townhouse Gallery of contemporary art, The Brooklyn Museum, The International Museum of Women, Christie's auction house, and independently produced a number of international projects with artists and cultural practitioners from the Middle East and Europe, with the support of ProHelvetia Swiss Arts Council, The Ford Foundation and The American Center Foundation. She holds a Bachelors of visual arts and mass communication from the American University in Cairo and is completing her Masters degree in Islamic Art and Architecture.
Contemporary Practices Journal encourages contributions that critically assess the visual arts practices in the Middle East from a variety of interdisciplinary backgrounds. We seek discourses that consider the relationship between the practice of visual arts and its institutional imaginings. Whether historically or contemporaneously, we are particularly interested in comparative approaches that address the interplay of visual arts and alternative media from the regional diaspora.
