Elie Abou Jamra

Elie holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the American University of Beirut. He has a special interest in Arabic typography and calligraphy and is very influenced by Persian graphic design and the works of its pioneer Reza Abedini. As his first working experience, Polypod is a space that's more than a design studio, it's a vision that integrates creative design attitude and skills into the society with a unique collaborating twist among its team. He's interested in the vernacular by collecting and documenting its visual language. He has also done his summer internship in Linotype, which carries on a 120 year old heritage in Latin and Arabic type design, under the supervision of an award winning Lebanese type designer Nadine Chahine.
