Born in Lebanon in 1980. He graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor in graphic design from the Lebanese American University. He also holds a Bachelor in applied arts with an emphasis in animation from the University of Toulouse Le Mirail and a Master’s degree in interactive multimedia design from the Sorbonne University in Paris.
Naji started his professional career as a freelancer based in Paris working for Gédéon where he participated in the creation of Aljazeera Children’s Channel visual identity and designed the channel’s Arabic logotype that was awarded the golden prize at the Promax BDA Arabia for the best original logo design in 2006. Involved in many cross-cultural projects, solving Arabic and Latin combinations in branding, logo design, broadcast design and corporate identity, Naji’s work became a mixture of both visual cultures. He designs for Interbrand the visual identity of the Egyptian telecom Mobinil and the Jordan Telecom Arabic logotype. In 2010 he designs the visual identity of Inwi telecom (Morocco) with Publicis Royalties and the Umam Arabic logotype (Morocco) for Landor Associates.
His collaboration with Max Kisman started in 2008 where he designed the Arabic version of Max’s “Highlight” typeface for his poster exposed at the Cobra Museum of Modern Art – Amstelveen in 2009. They also collaborated with the Khatt Foundation on a series of posters in Arabic and English for the “Art Must Move” at the Performa exhibition 2009 in New York and later at the Doha Calligraphy Biennale in 2010. Beside that he worked on several film documentaries for Arte TV as a 2D/3D animation Art director with Mosaique Films.
