Naji El Mir

Graphic designer - Arabic & Latin typographer- animator.

Naji El Mir was born in Tripoli Lebanon in 1980. Graduated in 2006 with a Master degree in Interactive Multimedia from the Sorbonne University in Paris. He also holds a Bachelor degree in Applied Arts emphasis in animation from Toulouse Le Mirail University in 2005 and a Bachelor degree of Arts in graphic design from the Lebanese American University in 2003. Beside his studies in France he worked simultaneously on different multinational and Arabic visual identities such Aljazeera Children’s channel, for which he designed the channel’s logotype that won the Promax BDA golden award for the most original logotype design in Dubai 2006. Since then, Naji developed a curiosity for Arabic type design, and became a specialist in Arabic adaptations working with many renown French Agencies. His appreciation for typography has always been omnipresent in his works, in 2006 he directed and animated a short animated typographic film “Blackgold” that was award nominated at the Auch animation Festival in France in 2007. Naji is at present working as an independent Art director, Arabic typographer and motion designer in Paris.
