Hassân Almohtasib

I am studying Communication-Design at the State Academy of Arts and Design in Stuttgart, Germany. I am highly interrested in photography and typography. I believe that the way to deisgn new arabic typefaces is not to copy forms of western letters. A new typeface should have a good form and a working function.

I don't believe in that two-boxes-mentality. We & The Others: arab/persian and the west. Our planet is much bigger than we imagine. Mr. Gutenberg for example invented those movable letters in Europe. Chinese and Koreans had used this system centuries before.

Visual artists in Iran were able to add something new to the oriental design scene because they believe that you should be yourself and stop trying to be the best second.
