Khajag Apelian | kj

An Armenian born in UAE, with a Lebanese nationality, living in the Netherlands.

I completed my MA in Type Design from Type and Media, KABK, in the Hague, 2009.

In 2007, I graduated with high distinction from Notre-Dame University, Lebanon, BA in Graphic Design with emphasis on Typography and Motion Graphics. Currently a freelance graphic and type designer, I worked for Landor Associates in Dubai for a year in 2008. I was member of the team of the much-publicized ‘El Hema’ exhibition - the Arabic adaptation of the Dutch store Hema - which was later awarded the Dutch Design Prize. A member of the International Society of Typographic Design (ISTD). My work has been published in the ISTD newsletter as well as the book Arabesque, Graphic Design from the Arab World and Persia (Die Gestalten Verlag. 2008).
