Omar holds a BSc in Mathematics from the University of London in addition to a BA in Law from Oxford University and began his career with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Transitioning into private enterprise as an entrepreneur, Omar established a number of companies in the fields of finance, legal services, and the arts -- most recently co-founding one of Dubai's most successful art galleries, The Third Line Gallery.
Subsequently Omar was tapped by the UAE government to serve as the Deputy CEO of the newly formed and prominent Emirates Foundation. Omar is a founding donor and Board member of the Arab Found for Art and Culture and sits on the Board of the Khatt Foundation.
Currently Omar is in the launch phase of yet another groundbreaking enterprise focused on the publishing of modern Arabic fiction --Kaleem Books. Kaleem's first book by Tunisian author Hassouna Mosbahi, entitled "Hikaya Tunisiyya" hits bookstores in April.
