Project Mulsaq - Baharat.jpg -
Having lived in rented-out homes in the past couple of years, been pretty much stranded with hideous white-tiled walls, and these designs involuntarily spun out of desperation to hype up the walls and the kitchen appliances.
Baharat is the term used for Spices in Arabic. The type on the utensils consists of ten different common Arabic spices; the name of each spice corresponds with it's name in English. The kitchen utensils - on which the names of the spices have been applied to - are a set of six that are among the most commonly used ones in the Arabic culture.

Gahwa - or Arabic Coffee - plays a major role in middle eastern lives, being it more of a daily custom or a routine rather than an addiction or a habit.
The key idea was to use an element of a Gahwa set - its decorative saucers, and through them portray its strong essence and immediate energy boost with a vibrant Arabic color palette. Slight touches of Islamic and Arabic patterns as well as Arabic calligraphy have also been integrated to exaggerate the Arabic feel. The simplicity of a saucer's shape along with it's repetition could give a young and hip look to any space (ie: dining room, living room, kitchen, corridors.)
