Lingering between art, design, and advertising. Easily seduced to design a table, a chair or a stage-set. Every now and then a movie or a poem comes out. Always questioning the spot. On and on surprised, outraged or in love. Lost? Found!
Max Bruinsma calls him the poet amongst designers, with great sensitivity for the poetry in the everyday, where typography is a partner for the text.
He is founder of the nonprofit educational organization DesignInquiry, which is devoted to researching design issues in intensive team-based gatherings, and as alternative to the design conference, bringing together practitioners from disparate fields to generate new work and ideas around a single topic. He has worked for various types of clients in various media using typography, image and materials in inventive ways. His work ranges from book design, to poster design, to environmental graphics, to stage design, to film and motion graphics, and even fashion design, all linked by strong conceptual approach and playful/intelligent design solutions.
