Salma Tuqan, curator of contemporary Middle Eastern art at the V&A and co-curator of the Jameel Prize 2013 leads an informal discussion with Huda Smitshuijzen AbiFarès, Founding Creative Director, The Khatt Foundation, Center for Arabic Typography and also a judge for this year’s prize, and one of the Jameel Prize 2013 shortlisted designers.

The Jameel Prize is an international award for contemporary art and design inspired by Islamic tradition. Its aim is to explore the relationship between Islamic traditions of art, craft and design and contemporary work as part of a wider debate about Islamic culture and its role today.

"In its third edition, this £25,000 international prize continues to nominate innovative contemporary designers, artists and makers from across the world”, says Salma Tuqan.
