In this exhibition Dia Batal explores notions of belonging, identity, and what constitutes the meaning of home. Borrowing texts from poetry, literature, and narratives from her own family history, she investigates, using materials such as paper and metal, the meaning of home as an internal point of orientation. The artworks also examine the significance of involuntary departures from a homeland, and what remains with us along those routes of departures.
The exhibition features drawing, collage and silkscreen on paper, and sculpture in metal.
Batal will be available for interviews and tours from 17th March to the 23rd of March, 2018.
The exhibition is supported by AFAC (The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture)
