Amman Design Week 2019: Possibilities

1 Dec 2018
11 Feb 2019

In 2019‭, ‬we are looking at design as a catalyst for‭ ‬dreaming‭; ‬the act of leaving behind what is, and reimagining what could be.

Possibilities‭ ‬is a celebration of the fictional‭, ‬incomplete‭, ‬and unresolved‭. ‬It invites storytelling‭; ‬narrations by the makers through the act‭ ‬of making‭. ‬We invite designers on a journey of self-awareness and discovery‭; one that is more about asking questions than finding the answers‭. ‬

The future is makeable‭, ‬so what are the possibilities‭?‬

Deadline for Submission: 10 February 2019

Why Apply to Amman Design Week 2019?

Participating in this event provides you with the opportunity to express distinctive ideas, develop and exhibit work, and participate in the conversation about design today in Jordan, all the while marking you as an active member of the region’s contemporary design scene. The event will introduce your creative output to a larger community of potential collaborators, partners, audiences, and clients. In 2017, our exhibitions attracted 89,000 visitors, who came to see works by over 100 participating designers.

How can you participate?

There are different ways to participate in Amman Design Week. If you’re interested in presenting a design object or installation for consideration in our curated exhibitions or for a space around the city, apply to “Exhibit Your Work”.

If you are interested in launching a line of products, or have a story to share about the design objects or installations you wish to showcase, apply to set up your own pop-up space at the Crafts District, where you can also present and sell your work to our audiences.

If you are a student enrolled in a Jordanian educational institution, and looking to learn and showcase new work, apply to participate in the student mentorship program and exhibition.

If you own a space or have a program to suggest, visit our creative spaces application page, where we will launch an open call for entries soon.
