An intensive 3-day workshop addressing present-day approaches to the ancient Arabic tradition of Arabesque ornamentation. The principles of Arabesque pattern-making, in relation to lettering and to the structure of the Arabic script will be discussed in detail.

Arabic Type Design Workshop Series 2013
The programme for the 3rd Khatt Foundation Type Design Workshop at Tashkeel will cover the complex process of Arabic typeface design: from the creative inception phase, to drawing the letterforms, and fianlly to learning font authoring tools and producing a digital Arabic font.
