“The world is complex, dynamic, multidimensional; the paper is static, flat. How are we to represent the rich visual world of experience and measurement on mere flatland?” Edward R. Tufte.
Inspired by Edward Tufte’s quote of ‘Escaping Flatland’, MONOGRAM has designed a series of collections that explore the theme in search of its effect on Arabic letters.

From paper sculptures are formed of what the letters would look like if they were set free from paper. These are then transformed into long lasting and wearable designs made from 18k gold. Through each collection, we see a different story of the letters escape from flatland, yet it is left to the wear of the jewellery to create their own story.
