Dena Al-Adeeb

Dena Al-Adeeb is an artist, writer, and scholar-activist born in Baghdad, Iraq and is currently based in San Francisco, California.  

She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the American Studies Department at the University of California, Davis. She received her PhD in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies, Culture and Representation track, from New York University. 

As a practicing artist Dena crates performative, relational works, dedicated to participatory art, socially engaged projects, and collaborative engagements. 

Her work has been published extensively and exhibited internationally.
