Alina Kokoschka is a researcher and curator. She is the founder and chief editor of "Hawass - Contemporary Islamic Aesthetics"

Alina Kokoschka has received her PhD in Islamic Studies at the Institute for Islamic Studies at "Freie Universität", Berlin. With "Hawass" she obtained the Wikimedia "Open Science" Fellowship in 2017/18. She currently works as a researcher and curator in Berlin and Lübeck.

Regarding typography and Arabic script, she recently focused on the the question of (il)legibility of Arabic calligraphy, on bilingual script encounters, and the close relationship between objects and Arabic script.
