From London, UK I moved to Dubai in January 2007, the first time I had ever been to an Arabic country. Two and a half years later I still have a lot to learn about arabic culture and typography.
The international art fair Art Dubai was what brought me here and I am still part of the team that works on the annual event that will happen for the third time at the Madinat Jumeirah in March 2009. I am the Education & Special Projects Manager and have established an internship scheme for students in the UAE to work internationally with particpating galleries and arts partners. I have also created the Art Dubai Bookshop.
In addition together with Sonia Brewin of START I co-launched an open forum on the visual arts called 'The Thinking Cloud'. Part 2 will begin in October 2008.
