Inverse School Typeface
"Inverse" is the name of a school that operates in the field of art, design, business and fashion. Previously, Inverse used public fonts, each of which covered some needs, but not all.
• These fonts did not reflect the personality of the school properly. This issue sometimes causes messages not to be transmitted completely and correctly or misunderstandings to occur.
• The use of different fonts does not ensure the integrity of the school's character and Text identity; As a result, it affects the transmission of the message and the level of trust of the audience. The desired font should be readable in long texts of the website and should be attractive for titles. It can cope with the print and also be able to use in the web and environmental advertising.
• Public fonts are easily and cheaply available to everyone, and due to different uses, they create a variety of mental references that may be different and in some cases even contradictory to the school's character and values and harm the brand image.
• Perfect harmony of Persian and English letters was very important; Because in the educational and software space, many English terms do not have Persian equivalents and should be written as they are. The second reason was the plan for the school to grow and cross-border in the long run.
• Legibility of numbers; Accurate and efficient spacing; The presence of functional styles and different weights, as well as facilities such as ligatures (combined letters) and alternative letters were among the other needs of the school.

In the first step of the design, we used the capacity of Reverse Contrast in Persian letters. That is, we reversed the position of strength and weakness in the letters. In a general explanation, vertical strokes are thicker than horizontal strokes in Persian script, and vice versa in English. This idea first came to our mind because of the name "Inverse". But it also has other advantages. Increases consistency with English letters and makes it easier to control the height of letters in heavier weights. Besides all this, it could convey the feeling of being Modern and international.
We divided the font into two categories: "text" and "display". Heavier fonts for large and short titles that are used for display; and middle weights for writings where correct and complete readability is a priority. To achieve this goal, in addition to the weight of characters, we considered differences in the design of forms and spacing. For example, in display styles, the forms are straight and more corners are used in their design; and other arrangements that we used in order to increase the attractiveness of the characters.
As a flexible and progressive school, Inverse must have a complete and flexible tool. So we thought of designing Condensed and Expanded styles. We designed 7 weights for each style, 21 fonts in total. These styles open up the hands of the school and greatly reduce the restrictions.
