calligraphy in art form

My name is Abbas Ali ,I am from Islamabad-Pakistani did my graduation from National college of Arts Lahore, Pakistan in communication design, and I recently did M.A. honor in Visual Arts from NCA Lahore Pakistan.
“I have attempted to extract the essence of shapes and forms that can be derived from the exploration of negative and positive spaces in Urdu/Arabic/Persian calligraphy.

My intent is to challenge the function of negative and positive spaces and highlight its existence as a separate entity that can exist on its own. Using calligraphy as my inspiration, I have attempted to draw out and explore the visual/ spatial possibilities that their negative spaces within the letters present to me as a designer.
By extracting, enlarging and rearranging these space I have created new compositions that encompass both the objective and non objective.
These reinvented forms are bold, seemingly simple and graphic but encourage the viewer to formulate their own narratives.
