Preserving and Nurturing Creative Developments in Arabic Typography

The use of Arabic typography and script within contemporary design is not a new topic. However, in product design and specifically modern fashion and accessories design, the challenges of keeping this medium alive and both preserving and nurturing its development, are very real.

Innovation in Arabic typography does not always translate to viable and commercially successful product design, and the panel will look to debate what makes one great design on paper more viable in 3D than another. In exploring both the design and the production realities faced, only then are we able to better preserve and creatively execute Arabic type into mainstream contemporary design practices for generations to come.
